Katie is an Associate in our Civil Litigation team, and works on a variety of high-value, complex disputes. Katie is dual qualified as a Solicitor in Scotland, and England & Wales. Katie has experience in disputes, arbitrations and professional regulation proceedings. She has experience of litigation in a range of sectors (including contractual disputes, healthcare, and competition), and has worked on cross border matters between Scotland and England. Katie is a member of the London Solicitors Litigation Association.

Notable Experience

  • For two Defendants, in a billion-pound litigation spanning multiple jurisdictions (including the USA, Monaco and Panama), concerning allegations of fraud, and asset misappropriation;
  • Involved in defending litigation in the Competition Appeal Tribunal concerning allegations of the formation of a monopoly in contravention of competition law;
  • Involvement in a high-value shareholder dispute, representing the Claimant, regarding allegations of fraud and misappropriation of company funds;
  • Advising on the enforcement of judgements in English Courts, and on the merits of cross-border interdict/injunction proceedings between Scotland and England.

Background

Katie studied law at the University of Edinburgh, graduating with First Class Honours, and completed her Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Glasgow, graduating with distinction. Prior to joining PCB Byrne, Katie trained and qualified with a global law firm. She qualified as a Solicitor in Scotland in 2020, and in England & Wales in 2023.
