Andrew is recognised amongst his peers as an expert on comparative and private international law. He has extensive expertise in cross-border civil and commercial disputes involving complex issues of jurisdiction, applicable law and the application of foreign law.

Andrew regularly assists clients on specialist private international law issues, asset recovery and the cross-border enforcement of judgments and awards, including injunctive relief.

Notable Experience

• Assisting with claims brought by a Saudi conglomerate in proceedings spanning several jurisdictions involving concurrent arbitration and fraud claims.
• Acting for a claimant in Commercial Court proceedings involving issues relating to dishonest assistance, offshore trusts and arbitration.
• Advising on applicable law issues arising in the context of a matrimonial property dispute regarding a Cayman Islands trust.
• Advising on the application of foreign law in English Commercial Court proceedings involving conspiracy and fraud claims.
• Assisting with supervision of search orders.

Background

Andrew read law at Oxford University and holds an LLM from King's College London. He was called to the Bar at Middle Temple in 2014. Andrew is the assistant editor of Dickinson and Lein (eds.) The Brussels I Regulation Recast, and a Visiting Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary, University of London, where he teaches private international law. Before joining the firm, he was a researcher at the British Institute of International and Comparative Law, where he focused on comparative and private international law. He regularly delivers lectures and seminars on private international law.
